There are many debates around the internet about which Disney Theme Park Resort is better, Disneyland or Walt Disney World. The opinions are wide and varied for lots of reasons; and we all have our favorite park – it’s all a matter of perspective. With that, we thought we would conduct our own completely unscientific survey to hear readers’ thoughts on comparable attractions. We want to know which electric parade you think is better.
Disney’s Main Street Electrical Light Parade was a Disneyland original that started in 1972, disappeared for a short while and then reappeared at Disney’s California Adventure before it left California for good in 2010. Walt Disney World has had a couple of runs with the parade and it has been a staple in the Magic Kingdom since 2010.
In 2015, Disneyland brought in a new light parade called Paint The Night.
This parade uses upgraded technology and depicts more modern Disney and Pixar characters versus the Main Street Parade which contains mostly classic characters.
So here’s the question: Which electric light parade is better – Disney’s Electric Parade in the Magic Kingdom, or Paint The Night Parade in Disneyland, and why? Remember, there are no right or wrong answers, just your opinion. We just wanted to hear what you have to say. There are other light parades in some of the international Disney parks, so if you have been there, you can lend your thoughts on their versions as well.
Below are more photos of elements in the two parades.

One last thing: As we finish writing this, we realize that Paint the Night Parade is closing at Disneyland. September 5 will be the last night – where it goes from there is unknown although rumors say that it is going to Walt Disney World to replace the Main Street Electrical Parade. So if you haven’t seen Paint the Night, but plan to before it goes away, you have just a few more nights left. Hurry, don’t wait.
