Halloween in the Magic Kingdom

Edna Mode (Debbie) and Mr. Incredible (Melvin).

What’s better than a trip to the Magic Kingdom?  Or better than Halloween?  How about a visit to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!  For our sixth straight year, we have made a trip to party with Mickey and all his friends.  The draw is that this is the only time that Disney allows adults to dress up in character – and believe us, there are some characters!  Take these two for example!  Debbie found Edna’s wig and glasses last year and purchased them because they were on a closeout price.  Melvin had his Continue Reading →

Our New Favorite Breakfast

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Making restaurant reservations in the parks, especially those with character dining is difficult at best.  But outside the parks and just a short journey to the resorts you can find lesser known, but equally satisfying places to enjoy a meal.  Everyone runs to the Plaza Inn or Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel, but Continue Reading →

Halloween at Disneyland!

The Disneyland Resort has gone all out this year in bringing Halloween to the California Adventure Park, even giving it a new name: “Haul-O-ween!”

Entrance to Disney’s California Adventure

In addition to the usual decorations in Disneyland, the imagineers have expanded on the experience by adding elements and designs to its sister park.  This is the first year they have decorated this park so extensively.  Most of the decoration is in Cars Land with Mater and the gang getting in on the action, but Buena Vista Street gets into the festivities as well as the Carthay Circle Restaurant and the corner of Buena Vista and Hollywood Boulevard with the Headless Horseman.

And around both parks you will find Continue Reading →

Happy 85th Birthday, Goofy!

“Safari” Goofy and us at dinner in Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom.

You look as youthful as ever!  It is hard to believe that you are a young 85 years old.  Making your first appearance on this day in Mickey’s Revue in 1923; and you have been delighting audiences ever since.

Without repeating a lot of information about this lovable, unflappable, always optimistic, anthropomorphic dog, we mostly want to say “Happy Birthday!”

Limited Edition Pins released for Goofy’s 85th birthday. Contains a spinner that depicts Goofy then and now.

If you would like to read our original post from 2 years ago, you can find it here.  We have also included a link to Goofy’s facebook page if you would like to follow his story.

Dining At Walt Disney World

Through all the crowds, screaming kids, long lines and decision-making and the other things that distract from a magical experience, there is one thing that we definitely look forward to at Walt Disney World:

Fulton's Crab House in Disney Springs

Fulton’s Crab House in Disney Springs

The dining!  The food!  The atmosphere!  We wish that there was a place we could say “don’t go there,” but so far we haven’t found it when it comes to our appetites.

We have had breakfast, lunch or dinner at Be Our Guest, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Fulton’s Crab House, The Hollywood Brown Derby, Boma – Flavors of Africa, Ohana, Liberty Tree Tavern, T-Rex, Yak & Yeti, The Crystal Palace, The Garden Grill, Hollywood & Vine, Rainforest Café, and San Angel Inn Restaurante.  And to think, we have only just begun!  So many Continue Reading →

Dining With A Princess

Ever wanted to have dinner with a princess?  How about dining in her castle, with all its royal, opulent décor and really good food?  We found out that it’s entirely possible at Walt Disney World.  You can have breakfast, lunch or dinner in Cinderella’s Castle. Upon entering the castle, Cinderella will greet you and you can have a picture taken with her in the foyer.  Then, while your meal is being served, other Disney princesses will make a royal entrance to visit each table for a meet-and-greet, complete with a photo, if you like.
