About this Blog & Authors

“To all that come to this happy place: welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America… with hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”

With those iconic words, Walt Disney welcomed the world into his latest creation.  He built it for everyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality.  It was and is open for everyone to enjoy and remember things past, savor the moment and dream of the future.

This blog is also open to everyone, but its content is more closely focused on those of us who are rediscovering all things Disney as empty-nesters, retired or soon-to-be-retired.  Don’t get us wrong, we love taking our grandson (and soon to be granddaughter) to the Disney Parks.  But here we share experiences from a more leisurely perspective, where we are not consumed with the hurry up pace of trying to fit in as many rides and experiences as possible in one trip.

So check back in with us from time to time and catch up on the latest adventure to one the Disney Resorts, events, or just a date night out.

Melvin & Debbie Perry

M&DGrowing up in Arizona, Melvin & Debbie each went to Disneyland as children only once.  Then after moving to California in 1988, we began taking our three daughters to Disneyland every year as they grew up.  The day was always hectic with getting up near sunrise, drive two hours to Anaheim, race around Disneyland to experience as much as possible, then drive home bleary-eyed after closing down the park.

Then something magical happened.  For the first time, we went to Disneyland at Christmas time in December, 2011.  Following that, we went again in March, 2012.  After two days at the park with close friends, we decided to become Annual Passholders for the first time, figuring that we live close enough to come more often.

Thus begins this journey to explore the worlds that Walt created, enjoying them from an adult’s view, taking in the magic and wonderment of all things Disney.
