2019 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

We came late to the party, but at least we made it.  The 2019 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is as stunning as ever.  The topiaries located around the park are outstanding, the entertainment is an added bonus; and let’s not forget the food!

Epcot has become one of our favorite parks for all the reasons mentioned above and as we have written about previously.  One of these days we will get to the opening day of these festivals so we can write about what is to come instead of what has happened!

Who doesn’t want to see their favorite performer for free in concert?  This year’s music line-up consisted of such mega stars as Rick Springfield, Tony Orlando, and The Guess Who.  Country artists such as Lonestar and John Michael Montgomery; and Contemporary Christian star Steven Curtis Chapman round out the schedule.  There is surely a music style to fit any fan.  Each evening these artists perform 3 mini-concerts lasting about 30 minutes, so hopefully every guest would get to hear their favorite song.

While there are fantastic restaurants in and around Epcot, the festivals offer unique opportunities to sample different foods from around the world.  As one travels the countries represented around the Showcase Lagoon, there are kiosks set up where appetizer-sized portions are available to purchase and try – everything from American fare and barbecue to more exotic flavors such as Carne Guisada with Black Bean Cake and Cilantro Lime Sour Cream, or Tuna Tataki with Spicy Yuzu Glaze, Mango, Avocado and Pappadam Crisp.

Topiaries located around Epcot are always a wonder.  It is fascinating to look at these and try to figure out how they are created and kept alive.  We always look for the “Disney Magic,” but these works of art are just as amazing as our favorite ride.

Near perfect photo!

There are many ways to enjoy visiting Epcot, or any Disney park for that matter.  In addition to all the “normal” stuff that we do, we can also be found trading pins, or taking photos trying to get unique shots or angles.  And this trip was no different.  We hit the trifecta in Epcot photos.  The Monorail over Spaceship Earth, while traveling over the blooming lagoon (seen on the left).

These colorful festivals offer something for everyone.  Whether it’s entertainment, food, cultural experiences or just the chance to explore and relax, Epcot should be on everyone’s to do list.  There is even things for kids to do and have fun here (in addition to the rides!)

Like all good things, the International Flower & Garden Festival will soon come to an end.  If a trip to Walt Disney World is in your immediate future, you have until June 3rd to experience this gorgeous world.  Or be sure to make it next year!  If you would like to see our previous experiences, you can click here.
